NAXAR is a free game you play in the browser, on a phone or a computer. Every pixel of the cave is a material, and each one does what it would really do.

The lost city

Naxar is a city the dunes swallowed long ago. Every cave you clear digs you closer to it, and the last crystal sits at its heart.

What happens if

Sand pours when you dig under it. Water poured on lava crusts into black basalt you can walk on, with a hiss of steam. Fire creeps through old mine timbers and drops embers. A powder seam takes a whole wall down. Every cave has one goal: reach the crystal at the bottom. How you get there is up to you.

Four tools

Dig through sand and earth. Pour water. Burn what burns. Blast what is in the way.

Controls

Computer: A and D (or the arrows) walk, W or Space jumps, click uses the tool, 1 to 4 pick a tool.
Phone: put your left thumb down to walk, tap the world to use the tool, and pick tools under your right thumb.

For everyone

Nothing in NAXAR hurts. Lava and acid put out your lantern and send you back to the last calm place you stood. There is no chat, no account is needed, and nothing you can buy is random.
